These rugs are handwoven in and around Agra in central northern India. The wool used in constructing the pile is softer than most Ziegler and Gazni rug types and the pile is deliberately left quick thick. This gives rise to a very different look to a lot of the pale washed out and muted rugs that are so popular in the UK at present.
Designs are typically floral with larger patterns than many rug types giving rise to a much more relaxed informal look. Rugs of this type are ideal for cozy sitting rooms, bedrooms and snugs.
This is the main reason why we travel to source to find different and unusual pieces thereby giving our stock a wider choice in terms of colour, style and price.
This wool piled rug measures 11 feet 8 inches long by 9 feet 1 inch wide. ( 3.54 x 2.76 metres ).
