A Pakistan Bokhara is woven using fine wools usually imported from Australia or New Zealand. We are familiar with such wool types being used to make fine jumpers, cardigans and suits. However when specially washed this wool takes on such a sheen that it is understandably and frequently mistaken for silk.
This finely spun wool is then densely woven on to a sturdy cotton warp (foundation) before being clipped, washed and then allowed to dry. With its high knot count, lustrous pile and solid foundation this rug will bring pleasure for many years to come.
Note from the owner, James Durrant. I take a lot of care whilst choosing our Bokhara Rugs. We use a top quality supplier so that pile depth, density, wool quality and colours are of the highest standard. You can buy these rugs with confidence knowing that there are no better examples available on the market today. SOLD via our Online Shop.
This rug measures 4 feet 2 long by 2 feet 8 inches wide. ( 1.23 x 0.81 metres ).
